LION. ANCHOR. SHELL. LITHUANIAN PAGES OF NAVAL WEAPON HISTORY
EXHIBITION DISPLAYED – 2023 09 22–2024 09 22
Exhibition is dedicated to the centenary of the annexation of the Klaipėda region to Lithuania!
The histories of various naval weapons from different countries allow us to explore Lithuanian history pages as well, finding connections with the roots of tradition.
Symbols of the lion, anchor, and shells adorn many naval weapons. The lion embodies courage, nobility and power. The anchor symbolizes a pilgrimage, the journey toward an endless array of paths leading to one goal, creativity, and intuition. The shells recalls the importance of stability and provides hope. These qualities and aspirations have been passed down to naval officers to this day.
