The department also contributes to improving the organization’s operations, strengthening internal processes and quality management, developing employee competencies, and creating a safe, ethical, and responsible work environment.

Ensures high-quality visitor services at the Lithuanian Sea Museum—provides information and assistance, organizes ticket and service sales, manages the ticketing system, and coordinates visitor flows. Develops, organizes, and implements the Lithuanian Maritime Museum’s educational activities for visitors of all ages, with the aim of highlighting the value of Lithuania’s maritime cultural heritage, ethnoculture, and marine nature, and promoting environmentally responsible behavior. The department develops educational programs and teaching materials, ensures their accessibility to various target groups, and coordinates the development, promotion, and quality assessment of educational services. The department also collaborates with educational, cultural, and other institutions; initiates and implements national and international projects; contributes to the creation of educational content for exhibitions and displays; and ensures a safe and high-quality visitor experience at the museum.

The department also coordinates the financial management of projects, advises the museum’s departments on financial and accounting matters, and contributes to the improvement of the internal control system.

Organizes and coordinates the public procurement processes of the Lithuanian Sea Museum, ensuring their legality, transparency, and efficiency. The department handles legal matters related to public procurement and asset management, coordinates the drafting and execution of contracts, and oversees the administration, use, and accounting of assets managed by the museum. The department also organizes procedures for the lease, use, and sale of assets, advises the museum’s departments on matters within its purview, and represents the museum’s interests in the areas of public procurement, asset management, and legal processes.

Responsible for the collection, research, preservation, and public presentation of marine and freshwater animals and marine natural history collections on display at the Lithuanian Sea Museum. The department ensures the welfare of the live exhibits in the aquariums, monitors their living conditions, technical systems, and the quality of the exhibits, and organizes marine life exhibitions and displays. The department also conducts scientific research, participates in international professional cooperation, contributes to educational and publishing activities, and disseminates knowledge about marine biology, nature conservation, and the importance of preserving marine ecosystems.

Responsible for the welfare, care, breeding, and exhibition quality of the marine mammals and birds housed at the Lithuanian Sea Museum, ensuring appropriate living conditions for the animals in accordance with the highest animal welfare standards. The department organizes and oversees the operations of the penguin house and outdoor pools, conducts scientific research, participates in international conservation programs, contributes to the conservation of the Baltic Sea seal population, and carries out their rehabilitation. The department also participates in the museum’s educational and public outreach activities, develops the scientific content of educational programs, and provides visitors with opportunities to learn about marine animals through interactive activities and feeding demonstrations.

Collects, researches, records, preserves, and digitalizes the Lithuanian Sea Museum's collections on maritime history, ensuring their long-term preservation and accessibility to the public. The department develops the scientific concepts for maritime history exhibitions and displays, organizes the conservation and restoration of museum artifacts, oversees the exhibitions, and coordinates the public presentation of the collections in the Lithuanian Integrated Museum Information System (LIMIS) and other cultural heritage portals.
