Title of the project: „Development of Scientifically Proved Methods of Animal Assisted Therapy and Its Integration to Holistic Medicine Concept“

The project aims at developing a unique product - scientifically proved methods of animal assisted therapy, which will be integrated to the concept of holistic medicine, and the methods evaluating welfare of the assisting animals. The scope will include dolphin assisted, hippo and canis therapies.   
It is foreseen that the results of the project  will supplement to the package of alternative medical services in Lithuania providing reliable methods of holistic animal assisted therapy including bilateral - human and animal - affecting aspect. 
The project is being implemented by Lithuanian Sea Museum and Directorate of Kurtuvenai Regional Park.

The project is implemented under the measure 02.3.1-CPVA-V-526 ‘Digitization and Dissemination of Cultural Content' of Priority 2 ‘Promotion of the Information Society' of the European Union Funds Operational Programme for the period 2014-2020.
The aim of the project is to modernise the Lithuanian Integral Museum Information System (LIMIS), adapting it to the contemporary needs of museums and the public, providing proper visualisation of digital cultural heritage content compiled in the database, and strengthening the material base for digitisation available to the participants of the Project.
The results of the project will comprise increased quantity of digital content, 10 advanced electronic services, integration of LIMIS with Cultural Heritage Register (CHR), access to the content through the Virtual Electronic Cultural Heritage Information System (VECHIS) www.epaveldas.lt and ‘Europeana', www.europeana.eu.
The list of the project participants include four Lithuanian museums and Institute of the Lithuanian Language under leadership of the Lithuanian Art Museum. 
Duration of the project 36 months, starting from July 2018. 4,231,542 Euros co-finance by European Union Structural Funds and the budget of the Republic of Lithuania.

Please NOTE! The Anex No. 1 of Lithuanian Sea Museum visitors service regulations:
1. Recast of Visitor Service Regulations, art. 24.2.3.1: in order to control maximum number of visitors allowed to the dolphinarium during the quarantine, children under 3 years of age must hold a ticket which cost 1 Eur, if purchased in the ticket office, and 0.95 Eur if purchased on line. Children 4 years of age and above must hold a ticket purchased at a child-ticket price. 

2. Recast of Visitor Service Regulations, art. 24.2.3.2.- 24.2.3.7: persons applicable to free admittance to the dolphinarium, according to the Visitor Service Regulations  of the Lithuanian Sea Museum, must register themselves before the visit  in advance by e-mail: aptarnavimas@muziejus.lt   or telephone +370 65961497.

3. Amendments of the Visitor Service Regulations  of the Lithuanian Sea Museum art. 24.2.3.1.; 24.2.3.2.- 24.2.3.7. will be valid in compliance with the quarantine regulations restricting number of visitors to indoor events or until special order by the director of the museum.

From Klaipėda. Take a passenger ferry from the Old Ferry Terminal (addr. Danės St. 1, Klaipėda) or a ferry for vehicles from the New Ferry Terminal (addr. Nemuno St. 8, Klaipėda) to Smiltynė. The distance from the passenger ferry terminal to the Lithuanian Sea Museum is 1,8 kilometer. Take a bus, ride a bicycle or walk on foot to get to the Museum. The distance from the vehicles terminal is 7 kilometers. Come to the Museum by car/ bicycle or on foot.

By intercity bus or train.  The distance from Klaipėda Bus or Railway Station to the Old Ferry Terminal (addr. Danės St. 1, Klaipėda) is 2,2 kilometers. To get to the Old Ferry Terminal take a bus 8 (get off at the stop Atgimimo and walk 1 kilometer to the terminal), walk on foot or take a taxi.
